Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore marks the site associated with the martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru, and stands adjacent to the historic Lahore Fort.
The gurdwara commemorates Guru Arjan Dev Ji, who compiled the Adi Granth (the precursor to the Guru Granth Sahib) and is revered as the first martyr Guru in Sikh history.
The gurdwara was built at the site traditionally associated with Guru Arjan's martyrdom in 1606, and remains an active site of worship within Lahore's historic old city area.
